Karachi (HRNW) — The Karachi Bar Association has expressed deep concern over fatal water tanker accidents in the city and has demanded immediate action from the Sindh Government. The Bar states that legislation is urgently needed to make Section 320 PPC, applicable to traffic accidents, non-bailable, so that drivers involved in deadly accidents cannot easily obtain bail.

Accident statistics
According to police data cited by the Bar, 803 traffic deaths occurred in 2025, with thousands injured. The death toll has continued into 2026, with 107 fatalities from heavy traffic already recorded by April this year.
