Tehran (HRNW)- At least three people were killed and four others injured in reported U.S. airstrikes targeting areas in Iran’s southwestern Hormozgan and Khuzestan provinces early Tuesday, according to Iranian officials and local media.
According to Fars News Agency, the strikes hit several locations in Hormozgan Province, including an environmental facility and an animal feed warehouse.
Masihi Taziani, Director General of the Hormozgan Environmental Department, said an environmental worker who was outside his home at the time of the attack escaped unharmed. However, he stated that his two sons and daughter-in-law were killed in the strike.
Meanwhile, Valiullah Hayati, Deputy Governor for Security Affairs in Khuzestan Province, said that parts of Omidiyeh came under attack at approximately 2:10 a.m. local time, according to Iran’s state news agency.
Iranian authorities have not released further details regarding the full extent of the damage, while the reported strikes come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States.
