Manama (HRNW)- Bahrain has claimed that its air defense forces successfully intercepted several missiles and drones allegedly launched by Iran, while authorities have urged citizens to stay away from unidentified debris that may have fallen after the attacks.
In a statement, the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force said that Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting Bahrain on Tuesday morning, but the kingdom’s air defense systems remained fully operational and successfully destroyed multiple aerial targets before they could reach their intended destinations.
According to the statement, all Bahraini defense and military units have been placed on high alert, with authorities taking all necessary measures to safeguard the kingdom’s security, protect citizens, and secure vital installations.
The Bahraini government appealed to the public not to touch any unidentified debris, missile fragments, or drone wreckage found on the ground, urging citizens instead to immediately report such objects to the relevant authorities.
Officials added that the Royal Field Engineering Unit remains on standby to safely dispose of any suspicious or hazardous materials to ensure public safety and protect lives and property.
The Bahrain Defense Force stated that attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure with missiles and drones constitute a violation of international humanitarian law. The military also praised the professionalism, preparedness, and swift response of its personnel, affirming that the armed forces remain fully prepared to respond to any security threat.
The development comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with Gulf countries continuing to strengthen their defense preparedness in response to growing regional security concerns.
