Abu Dhabi (HRNW)- The United States Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has canceled all regular consular appointments at the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the U.S. Consulate in Dubai from July 13 to 15 due to the deteriorating security situation in the region.
In a security alert, the U.S. mission advised applicants with appointments during the affected period not to visit the embassy or consulate. It said that all affected applicants would be contacted directly by U.S. officials and provided with new appointment dates.
The embassy cited regional security developments as the reason for the temporary suspension but did not disclose details of any specific threat or security incident. The move comes amid heightened military tensions and increased security concerns across the Gulf region.
U.S. authorities have also advised American citizens in the UAE to follow the embassy’s latest security guidance, closely monitor local news updates, and avoid non-essential travel until the security situation stabilizes.
Officials have not announced a date for the full resumption of regular consular services.
