Trump Says No Rush for Iran Deal, Warns Military Option Remains on the Table

Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has said that he is in no hurry to finalize an agreement with Iran, while emphasizing that military action remains an option if negotiations fail to achieve the desired outcome.

According to media reports, Trump made the remarks during an interview with Fox News, stating, “We are slowly getting what we want. The negotiating side is very tough. It takes a long time. I am in no hurry.”

The US president added that he believes progress is being made through negotiations, but warned that if an agreement is not reached, the United States has other ways of achieving its objectives.

Earlier, The New York Times, citing three US officials, reported that Trump had responded to the latest proposals exchanged between Washington and Tehran. However, the specific changes made to the proposal have not yet been disclosed.

According to the report, two US officials indicated that Trump had concerns regarding the possible unfreezing of Iranian funds as part of any future agreement.

Trump further stated that he would prefer a diplomatic agreement because it could lead to the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy and trade route. He also claimed that Iran’s military capabilities had been significantly weakened, though negotiations remain ongoing.

The latest remarks come amid continued diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran, with international observers closely monitoring developments that could affect regional stability, global energy markets and international trade.
