Karachi (HRNW): The Sindh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, has approved a two-year extension of tax and registration incentives aimed at promoting electric vehicles across the province.
According to the cabinet decision, the incentives for electric vehicles will remain in effect until May 29, 2028.
The cabinet also decided to impose a one-time lifetime Motor Vehicle Tax of Rs500 on electric motorcycles.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said promoting electric vehicles would help reduce carbon emissions, curb urban air pollution and decrease dependence on imported fuel.
The Sindh government said the initiative is aimed at encouraging environmentally friendly and affordable modes of transportation while addressing air pollution in urban areas.
