SHO Gulshan-e-Maymar Accused of Smuggling Patronage and Alleged Extortion

KARACHI (HRNW): Allegations have emerged against SHO Gulshan-e-Maymar, Israr Afridi, regarding his purported involvement in smuggling operations carried out via passenger buses. Sources claim that a notorious middleman from the East Zone, Zafar Mota, is collecting approximately 500,000 PKR per week from bus owners to facilitate their smooth passage through the jurisdictional limits of Gulshan-e-Maymar.

Reports indicate that last week, Gulshan-e-Maymar police intercepted five buses at the MD Cut location and shifted them to a secret site via internal routes. It is alleged that Zafar Mota subsequently finalized a deal worth 2.5 to 3 million PKR to release these buses back to their owners. Sources further claim that the SHO is keeping high-ranking officers in the dark by registering only one bus in official records as a legal case while clearing more than five other buses in exchange for millions of rupees.
