Tantan (HRNW)- Two U.S. soldiers have gone missing during a military exercise in Morocco, according to a statement issued by U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM). Officials said the soldiers were taking part in African Lion 2026, an annual multinational exercise aimed at strengthening cooperation between U.S. forces, NATO allies, and African partner nations. According to the statement, the two soldiers were reported missing near the Cape Dara training area, located close to the Moroccan city of Tantan. In response, a large-scale search and rescue mission involving ground, air, and naval forces from the United States, Morocco, and other participating countries has been launched to locate the missing personnel. Authorities have not yet released further details about the circumstances surrounding their disappearance, while rescue efforts continue.
