Lawyers’ Convention Announces Resistance Against Government and Constitutional Amendments

KARACHI (HRNW): Senior legal experts and bar officials expressed grave concerns over proposed constitutional amendments, interference in the judiciary, and the state of the rule of law during a Lawyers’ Convention held at the Sindh High Court. The legal fraternity has announced a united struggle to safeguard the constitution.

Former bar presidents and lawyer leaders stated that the rule of law, judicial independence, and fundamental rights are currently under threat. Serious questions were raised regarding recent legislation and parliamentary actions. Speakers emphasized that the legal community must unite, as they have in the past, to protect the constitution and democracy.
