Islamabad (HRNW)- Reasons behind the delay in convening a meeting of the Judicial Commission regarding the transfer of High Court judges have come to light. According to Express News in Islamabad, sources stated that the meeting concerning the transfer of five judges of the Islamabad High Court was not convened due to key constitutional and administrative concerns raised by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi.
In his response, the Chief Justice reportedly noted that transferring judges from the Islamabad High Court to the Sindh High Court could result in Sindh losing representation in the Islamabad High Court. He further expressed concern that transferring more than half of the judges could create significant vacancies and uncertainty within the court system.
Sources also indicated that the Chief Justice pointed out that proper reasons for the transfer of judges had not been provided, which contributed to the delay in proceeding with the Judicial Commission meeting.
