KARACHI (HRNW): In a major operation against institutional graft, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (Central) has arrested Building Inspector Latafat Mirza while he was caught accepting a bribe. According to informed sources, the raid was executed near the Sindhi Hotel area in Liaquatabad.
Details of the Raid:
The action was initiated after the Anti-Corruption authorities received a complaint from a citizen alleging that the Building Inspector was demanding an illegal gratification for official work. Under the supervision of a magistrate, a trap was set by the Anti-Corruption team. The inspector was caught red-handed at the Sindhi Hotel location the moment he received the marked currency notes.
Legal Action:
Officials have recovered the bribe money from the suspect’s possession and taken him into custody. He has been shifted to the Anti-Corruption police station for further investigation. A formal case is being registered against the accused under the relevant sections of the Anti-Corruption and Bribery laws to ensure he is prosecuted according to the law.
