Customs Seizes Gold and Foreign Currency Worth Millions at Karachi Airport

KARACHI (HRNW)- Pakistan Customs executed a major operation at Jinnah International Airport, seizing a significant cache of gold and foreign currency from a passenger arriving from Abu Dhabi. According to Customs officials, the passenger was traveling with his family when he was diverted to the Red Channel for a detailed inspection of his luggage and hand-carry bags.

During the scanning process, officials recovered 281 tolas of gold jewelry, two gold bars weighing 10 tolas each, 33,100 US Dollars, and 366,000 UAE Dirhams. The total value of the seized items is estimated to be approximately 190 million Pakistani Rupees. Customs authorities have confiscated the gold and currency, and a formal case has been registered against the passenger for further investigation under the Customs Act.
