Karachi Police Thwart Indian Gutka Smuggling Attempt; Female Accomplices Used as Cover

Karachi, Pakistan (HRNW)- The Site Super Highway Police successfully intercepted a major smuggling attempt on the Super Highway, arresting four suspects, including two women. The group was caught attempting to smuggle prohibited Indian Gutka and prepared “Mava” into the interior of Sindh by using the women as a human shield to evade security checks.

According to DSP Sohrab Goth, Aurangzeb Khattak, and SHO Site Super Highway, Chaudhry Nawaz, the operation was carried out based on credible intelligence. Police intercepted a Suzuki pickup truck traveling from Hub Chowki via the Northern Bypass. To deceive law enforcement, two women—identified as Saleha and Salma—were seated in the back of the vehicle. One of the women was reportedly feigning illness, lying on a bed spread across the truck bed to conceal the contraband hidden underneath.

Upon a thorough search, police recovered 390 packets of Indian Gutka and prepared Gutka Mava. Along with the two women, their male accomplices, Imran and Shamman Ali, were taken into custody. The Suzuki pickup used in the smuggling operation has been impounded, and a formal case has been registered. Police officials stated that further investigations are underway to uncover the broader network behind this smuggling ring.
