Lahore (HRNW)- The Punjab government has introduced a major digital reform in the stamping system to promote convenience, transparency, and faster services for citizens by gradually replacing traditional security stamp papers with online e-stamps.
Under reforms implemented through the Board of Revenue Punjab, citizens can now pay stamp duty and obtain stamp papers completely online. Through the government portal and mobile application, users can make payments, verify their identity through OTP authentication, and receive an e-stamp instantly.
The e-stamp can be downloaded and printed on ordinary white paper, eliminating the need for citizens to visit banks or purchase traditional stamp papers. Authorities say the system will help curb fake and illegal stamp papers while ensuring greater transparency and efficiency.
Citizens will be able to obtain stamp papers of all denominations through the online portal, while the procedure for stamp vendors issuing papers below Rs300 will remain unchanged.
