Muscat/Tehran (HRNW)- Iran has rejected the US demand to halt uranium enrichment during talks in Oman. According to a regional diplomat, Iran has made it clear that it is not ready to give up its right to enrich uranium.
The diplomat says that Iran is ready to discuss the level and purity of enrichment or a possible regional consortium. Tehran maintains that the US negotiators seem to understand Iran’s position on uranium enrichment.
According to sources, during the talks in Muscat, the US side showed flexibility on some of Iran’s demands, but there was no discussion on Iran’s missile capabilities in these talks.
Regional diplomats say that the talks are likely to continue and the parties appear to be seeking a diplomatic solution.
