Arifwala (HRNW) — An under-trial prisoner at Pakpattan District Jail died after suffering a heart attack, according to police and prison sources. The deceased was identified as 62-year-old Muhammad Amin.
Police officials stated that a bogus cheque case had been registered against Muhammad Amin at City Police Station Arifwala, and he was imprisoned in Pakpattan District Jail as an under-trial detainee in connection with that case.
According to jail authorities, the prisoner’s condition suddenly deteriorated, and he was immediately shifted to the hospital in critical condition, but he could not survive.
Police further reported that the deceased belonged to District Multan. Legal formalities are being completed, while the jail administration has launched an internal investigation into the incident.
