Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran does not want war, but will not remain silent in the face of any aggression and will give a decisive response to any future attack. Speaking before departing for Kyrgyzstan to attend an international summit, Pezeshkian said Iran would strongly respond to any further attack and take necessary measures to protect its security and sovereignty.
The Iranian president expressed concern over rising tensions and instability in the Middle East, saying that further escalation would not serve the interests of any country and could affect the entire region. His remarks came after the reported US attack on Iran’s Lark Island, following which Iran claimed to have targeted US military positions in the region. Pezeshkian’s statement reflects Tehran’s position of seeking to avoid further escalation while maintaining that any new aggression would receive a strong response.
