Chaudhry Salik Intensifies Efforts for Another Increase in EOBI Pensions

Lahore (HRNW)- Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain has intensified efforts to increase pensions under the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), which could result in the second increase within a year.

The minister has directed the EOBI board to prepare and submit a report on its financial capacity and available funds to assess the possibility of a further pension increase.

Last year, the EOBI pension was increased by 15 percent, raising the monthly pension from Rs11,500 to Rs32,000, with pensioners also receiving arrears.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain said the welfare of EOBI pensioners remains among the government’s priorities. He also urged pensioners to remain vigilant against fake notifications and fraudsters.
