Punjab Makes Digital Inventory Mandatory for All Arms Dealers

Lahore (HRNW) — The Punjab Home Department has made digital inventory mandatory for all arms dealers across the province as part of Chief Minister Punjab’s vision of creating an “Illegal Arms-Free, Safe Punjab.”

According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department, all arms dealers will be required to record their complete stock, as well as details of all purchases and sales, through the designated online portal.

Under the newly implemented Inventory Module for Business Arms License (BAL) holders, complete records of firearms and ammunition held by each licensed arms dealer will be available through the Punjab Arms Licensing online system.

All arms dealers have been directed to upload details of their existing stock through the Punjab Arms Licensing (PAL) portal by August 26, 2026.

The Home Department has also provided relevant arms dealer information to all Deputy Commissioners across Punjab. Deputy Commissioners have been directed to ensure that arms dealers in their respective districts complete the online inventory process and submit updated compliance reports to the Home Department.

The department warned that arms dealers who fail to upload their inventory within the prescribed deadline may face legal action, including possible suspension of their licenses, sealing of their businesses, and financial penalties in accordance with the law.

The Punjab Home Department is also conducting a training workshop to facilitate arms dealers regarding the Punjab Arms License Inventory Module.

The special training workshop will be held at the Punjab Forensic Science Authority Auditorium on Monday, August 24, at 10:30 a.m. Arms dealers will also be able to participate online through the offices of their respective Deputy Commissioners.

The workshop will provide arms dealers with guidance on using the online portal and an opportunity to raise their questions and concerns regarding the new inventory system.

The Punjab Home Department said the digital inventory system is intended to improve record-keeping, transparency, monitoring, and regulatory oversight of arms dealers across the province.
