China Condemns U.S. Strikes on Iran at UN, Calls for Diplomacy Over Military Action

New York (HRNW)- China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Sun Li, has strongly criticized the United States’ attacks on Iran, saying the military actions have once again pushed the Middle East toward a dangerous turning point.

Speaking during a United Nations session in New York, the Chinese ambassador said the U.S. military operations against Iran are escalating regional tensions and pose a threat to global peace and stability.

His remarks came after U.S. Representative Mike Waltz alleged that China was not taking sufficient measures to prevent the supply of goods to Iran and Yemen.

Ambassador Sun Li rejected the allegations as baseless, stating that China strictly monitors its exports and enforces all relevant laws governing international trade.

He stressed that the priority should be for the United States to take practical steps to reduce tensions rather than create new conflicts in the Middle East.

According to the Chinese envoy, diplomacy, dialogue, and respect for international law are essential for achieving lasting peace in the region, instead of relying on military action.

Political analysts say the latest exchange highlights growing diplomatic differences between major powers following the U.S. strikes on Iran, with China continuing to advocate negotiations and a political solution, while the United States maintains its policy of military pressure on Tehran.
