Tamil Nadu, India (HRNW) – A newly married woman died after falling from a hill while feeding monkeys at a temple site in India’s southern state of Tamil Nadu, according to local media reports.
The incident reportedly occurred when a 24-year-old woman, identified as Anita, lost her balance and fell into a ravine while visiting a temple area with her husband.
According to reports, Anita had recently married a 29-year-old man named Suresh just last month. Her husband, who works abroad, had recently returned home, after which the couple visited a local temple to perform religious rituals.
After completing the पूजा (prayer rituals) at the temple, the couple reportedly went to a nearby hilltop area where monkeys were being fed fruits. Witnesses said that as they were feeding the monkeys, a large group of monkeys gathered around them, causing panic.
In the ensuing fear and confusion, Anita reportedly lost her balance and fell from the hill into a deep ravine. She died on the spot due to severe injuries sustained in the fall.
Local authorities have not reported any foul play, and the incident is being treated as a tragic accident. Further details are awaited.
