Karachi: Five-Member Dacoit Gang Operating in Scheme 33 Apprehended; Weapons and Stolen Motorbikes Recovered

KARACHI (HRNW) – In a major breakthrough against street crime, the Sachal Police Station, operating under the District East Police Zone, smashed a notorious five-member dacoit gang active in Scheme 33 and its adjacent localities. According to a District East Police spokesperson, the arrests were made during a targeted, intelligence-based raid conducted on May 28, 2026.

Details of the police operation and seizures include:

Seizure of Illegal Weapons, Stolen Motorbikes, and Valuables

  • Weapons and Phones: Police recovered two illegal pistols, live ammunition, and a cache of snatched mobile phones from the possession of the arrested suspects.

  • Confiscated Vehicles: Three motorcycles used during the commission of street crimes were also seized by the police team. Upon checking criminal records, it was revealed that one of the recovered Honda 125 motorbikes had been stolen from the jurisdiction of the PIB Colony Police Station.

Confession and Identity of the Gang Members

During preliminary interrogation, the suspects confessed to executing multiple armed robberies, house thefts, and street crimes in Scheme 33 and adjoining neighborhoods. The apprehended gang members have been identified as:

  1. Muhammad Saqib

  2. Zameer alias Jameel

  3. Muhammad Arif

  4. Muzammil

  5. Wazir

The Sachal Police have registered formal cases against the suspects under relevant sections of the law, including the Arms Act and the Pakistan Penal Code. Further investigation is underway to track down their potential accomplices and fence buyers of the stolen goods.
