Sindh Rangers Arrest ‘Chandio Gang’ Ringleader and Two Others in Targeted Intelligence Operation

Karachi (HRNW)- Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) have arrested three suspects, including the alleged ringleader of the ‘Chandio Gang’, during a targeted intelligence-based operation in the Sindhi Goth area of Karachi. Officials say the group was involved in multiple incidents of street crime, dacoity, and theft of valuable metals from steel mills across the city.

According to a spokesperson for Sindh Rangers, the arrested individuals have been identified as Rajab alias Raju (gang leader), Munir Ali Chandio alias Manu, and Abdul Jabbar alias Baqir. During the operation, authorities recovered a motorcycle, five fake number plates, and cash from their possession.

Alleged Crimes and Modus Operandi:

  • Active in Multiple Areas: The suspects were reportedly involved in snatching mobile phones and cash at gunpoint in areas including Shah Latif Town, Quaidabad, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Steel Town, Manghopir Road, Papri, and surrounding localities.

  • Steel Theft: In addition to street crimes, the accused were allegedly involved in stealing iron and copper from Pakistan Steel Mill.

  • Repeat Offenders: Rangers officials stated that the suspects are habitual criminals, and several FIRs have already been registered against them in different police stations across Karachi.

The arrested suspects have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings and investigation. Meanwhile, raids are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices who remain at large. Rangers have urged citizens to report criminal activity immediately via the Rangers helpline 1101 or WhatsApp number 03479001111.
