Sindh Police Dissolves PQR Program Amid Misuse Allegations; Immediate Halt Ordered by IG

Karachi (HRNW)- Police National Volunteer (PQR) chapter closed, activities ordered to be stopped immediately, IG Sindh issues official notification The activities of the Police National Volunteer (PQR) program are now a thing of the past. The Inspector General of Police Sindh has issued an official notification on July 27, 2025, ordering the immediate cessation of all deployments, operations and administrative activities related to PQR across the province.

However, the official order issued today has cleared all doubts. As per notification number 37/68-77/AIGP/OPS-I/IGPD, the entire PQR system has been dissolved with immediate effect, and no individual will be allowed to remain active under this framework.

The notification has directed that if any person is still found associated with PQR, strict departmental action will be taken against him. In addition, all concerned field commanders have been directed to immediately contact the Deputy Commissioners and cancel all issued NOCs.

According to sources, some persons associated with PQR were found involved in illegal checking, harassment of citizens, and misuse of powers, which led to an increase in public complaints and the police department also faced criticism. The IG Sindh has made it clear that unauthorized activities will not be tolerated and this order will be strictly implemented.
