PTI Leader Shaukat Yousafzai Criticizes PIA Privatization, Calls for Accountability of Rulers

Islamabad (HRNW)– Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shaukat Yousafzai has expressed deep regret over the completion of the privatization process of the national airline. In his response, he said that “my heart is crying tears of blood” over the privatization of PIA and that this situation of national institutions is the result of the alleged incompetence and corruption of the rulers.

Shaukat Yousafzai said that national assets are protected all over the world, but national institutions in Pakistan are being pushed towards decline. According to him, this is just the beginning and it is not known how many more institutions will be sold.

He demanded that those responsible for the destruction of national institutions be identified and exposed.

It should be noted that in the ceremony organized by the Privatization Commission Board for the bidding of the national airline, the Arif Habib Consortium bought 75 percent of the shares of PIA by placing the highest bid of Rs 135 billion, with which the privatization process was completed.
