Miami — United States (HRNW)- A new human rights report from Amnesty International has revealed serious allegations of cruel and degrading treatment of immigrants held at Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz” and Krome detention centers. Detainees were reportedly shackled and left outside in metal cages for extended periods in extreme heat, raising alarm over violations of humane treatment standards and basic human dignity. Rights advocates are calling for immediate investigations and reform of immigration detention practices in the U.S.
