Karachi (HRNW) — A Judicial Magistrate South court has delivered a significant verdict in cases registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) against an illegal Chinese call centre and an alleged fraudulent profit scheme.
The court sentenced all 34 accused in the two cases, including 15 Chinese nationals, to 18 months in prison and a fine of Rs100,000 each.
According to the NCCIA, the two cases involved a total of 15 Chinese and 19 Pakistani nationals, who were arrested from Defence, Karachi, in December 2025.
The agency said that during the operation, 37 computers, 40 mobile phones and more than 10,000 international SIM cards were recovered from the accused.
According to investigators, the suspects were allegedly involved in defrauding Pakistani and foreign citizens by offering attractive returns through fraudulent investment and profit schemes.
The NCCIA described the convictions as a significant development in investigations and prosecution against illegal call centres and online fraud networks.
