Abu Dhabi (HRNW)- The UAE’s state-owned energy company ADNOC has confirmed that two of its ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz were attacked on the evening of Thursday, August 13.
According to the UAE’s official news agency WAM, no one was reported injured or killed in the incident. The company said the situation had been brought under control and that its crew members were safe.
ADNOC said the safety and well-being of its crew, particularly those working at sea, remains its top priority.
The company also stressed that ensuring the safe passage of vessels and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is of utmost importance. Maritime security has become a major challenge for the region amid the current tensions.
ADNOC appealed to the public to obtain information about the incident only from official and authoritative sources and urged people to avoid spreading unverified information, rumors and speculation.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime routes, connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea and serving as a vital passage for global oil and energy shipments.
