12-year-old madrasa student allegedly raped and killed by fellow pupil who gave him overdose of drugs

Tando Allahyar (HRNW) – In a distressing case, a 12-year-old madrasa student has reportedly been sexually assaulted and killed after being given a lethal dose of drugs. Police sources say the main suspect is Noor Ali, a student at the same madrasa, who allegedly repeatedly drugged the victim and committed sexual abuse over several days.

Sources say the child died after being given an overdose of intoxicating pills. Following forensic and medical sample matches, the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime, police added.

A murder and sexual‑assault case has been registered at Chambur police station at the behest of the victim’s heirs, and the suspect has been arrested. Investigations are ongoing and police are collecting further evidence and witness statements.

Human rights angle
HRNW stresses that allegations of sexual violence and child death require independent, transparent and effective investigations. The victim’s family should be provided with access to justice and appropriate medical and psychosocial support. At the same time, suspects are entitled to a fair hearing and legal defence. Stronger child‑protection measures, improved oversight in religious schools and preventive policies are necessary to help prevent such tragedies.
