Tehran (HRNW)- Iran has issued a strong reaction following reports of the sudden death of US Senator Lindsey Graham, with officials criticizing his long-standing political positions on Iran and regional affairs.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei said in a statement that Graham was known for his hardline stance toward Iran and his support for military policies. Baqaei stated that the Iranian people could not mourn someone whose political ideology, in his view, was based on aggression, pressure, and threats.

The remarks came after media reports claimed that Senator Lindsey Graham, a prominent Republican lawmaker known for his positions on Iran, Israel, and the Middle East, had died at the age of 71.

According to reports, some presenters on Iranian state television also commented on Graham’s death during broadcasts on Sunday.

Political observers say the reaction reflects the continuing diplomatic tensions between Iran and the United States, warning that such exchanges could further strain relations between the two countries.
