Major Action at KDA: Final Warning Issued Over Missing Land Records

KARACHI (HRNW): The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has launched a high-level crackdown against internal delays, issuing a “final reminder” to officers to produce missing land transaction records. The KDA Inquiry Committee has warned of stern departmental action if the requested files are not submitted immediately.

Focus on Shah Faisal Township and Land Files

The inquiry is specifically targeting land transactions and allotment files related to Shah Faisal Township. The committee has demanded the following records:

  • Original land transaction files.

  • Allotment registers.

  • Payment challans and verification documents.

Deadline and Legal Consequences

A formal communication issued from the KDA headquarters at Civic Center, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, has categorized the matter as “Extremely Important.” The committee has set a firm deadline of April 20 for the submission of all records.

The notification explicitly states that if the relevant officers fail to cooperate by the deadline, a formal report detailing the non-compliance will be forwarded to the Competent Authority for the initiation of disciplinary and legal proceedings. This move is seen as part of a broader effort to bring transparency to KDA’s land management and resolve long-standing inquiries into illegal allotments.
