Rangers and Police Arrest Two Extortionists Linked to Jamil Chhanga Group

Karachi, Pakistan (HRNW)The Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), in coordination with the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Karachi Police, conducted a joint operation based on secret intelligence in the Garden area of Karachi, resulting in the arrest of two extortion suspects, Hamad aka Cheel and Abdullah, who were apprehended in injured condition.

During the operation, authorities recovered extortion letters, mobile phones, firearms, and ammunition from the suspects.

The arrested individuals revealed that they are in contact with Jamil Chhanga, a fugitive extortionist based abroad, and have been carrying out extortion, firing, and intimidation against factory owners, shopkeepers, builders, and hotel owners on his instructions.

According to police, the suspects admitted to firing incidents at a building under construction on Jahangir Road, Al-Hayat Hotel in Soldier Bazaar, Jamshed Town, and on December 13 at Bridge Star, Nishtar Road, Garden, after victims refused to pay extortion money, injuring two individuals, Sajid and Mumtaz.

CCTV footage clearly shows the suspects committing the shootings. Both are habitual criminals, with multiple FIRs registered against them in various Karachi police stations for extortion, terrorism, and attempted murder.

Authorities have confirmed that raids are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices.
