Malaysia PM Says Any Israeli Citizen Found in Country Will Be Deported

Kuala Lumpur (HRNW)- Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has said that any Israeli citizen found in Malaysia will be deported immediately, reaffirming the country’s policy of not recognizing Israel.

According to Free Malaysia Today, the Prime Minister’s remarks came after reports alleged that Israelis were involved in activities related to a local international community school in the southern state of Johor. The allegations are currently under investigation by the relevant authorities.

The controversy emerged after claims circulated on social media that Israeli nationals had joined the community using foreign passports.

Anwar Ibrahim said that government agencies are thoroughly investigating the allegations and stressed that the government would not compromise if the claims were proven true.

“If we find any Israelis, we will deport them immediately because we do not recognize Israel,” the Prime Minister said.

The Home Ministry launched an investigation after the Johor state government requested a federal probe into the allegations concerning the community school.

Meanwhile, the Immigration Department stated that all 266 foreign nationals residing in the international community in Forest City were found to possess valid immigration documents.

Malaysia generally does not allow Israeli passport holders to enter the country without special approval, as it does not maintain diplomatic relations with or recognize the State of Israel.
