Newly Elected Karachi Bar President Calls on Haleem Adil Sheikh to Offer Thanks

KARACHI, (HRNW): Newly elected President of the Karachi Bar Association, Advocate Aamir Nawaz Warraich, accompanied by Sindh High Court Bar Association President Advocate Haseeb Jamali and other senior lawyers, called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh at Adil House on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by Insaf Lawyers Forum Sindh President Advocate Faisal Mughal, General Secretary Barrister Ali Tahir, Insaf Lawyers Forum Karachi President Advocate Shujaat Ali Khan, General Secretary Nasrullah Jalbani, along with other senior members of the forum.

During the meeting, Advocate Amir Nawaz Warraich expressed gratitude to Haleem Adil Sheikh, the Insaf Lawyers Forum, and the PTI-affiliated legal fraternity for their support in the Karachi Bar Association elections. Haleem Adil Sheikh congratulated Warraich on his election as President of the Karachi Bar Association and presented him with a traditional Ajrak, a cultural symbol of Sindh.

Speaking on the occasion, Haleem Adil Sheikh said that Advocate Amir Nawaz Warraich had consistently demonstrated principled and courageous leadership in defending the Constitution, the rule of law, judicial independence, and the supremacy of justice, earning the confidence of the legal community. He reaffirmed that PTI would continue to support all those striving for constitutional supremacy, democracy, justice, and the rule of law.

He said that restoring the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law had become an urgent national necessity. Deviations from the Constitution, the weakening of democratic norms, and delays in the delivery of justice had undermined public confidence. Pakistan’s political stability, economic progress, and sustainable development, he added, depend on respect for the Constitution, the rule of law, and the public mandate.

Haleem Adil Sheikh further stated that an independent judiciary, a strong parliament, free and transparent elections, protection of fundamental human rights, and the full implementation of the Constitution are the essential pillars of a strong democratic state.

He also paid tribute to the legal fraternity, saying lawyers had historically played a decisive role in safeguarding the Constitution, democracy, judicial independence, and civil liberties. He stressed that Pakistan once again required principled and courageous leadership to strengthen the rule of law, ensure that institutions function within their constitutional limits, and provide equal justice to all citizens.

Advocate Aamir Nawaz Warraich thanked Haleem Adil Sheikh and insaf lawyers forum for their support and pledged to work for the protection of lawyers’ rights, judicial independence, constitutional supremacy, and the effective delivery of justice during his tenure as President of the Karachi Bar Association. He also vowed to continue the bar’s tradition of actively supporting all constitutional and legal struggles.
