Town Municipal Corporation Manghopir launches a large-scale tree plantation campaign

Karachi (HRNW)- In view of the environmental challenges facing Karachi and the rising temperatures, the Chairman of Town Municipal Corporation Manghopir, Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi, has officially launched a large-scale tree plantation campaign aimed at making the area greener and more environmentally sustainable. The campaign seeks to promote greenery across the industrial and residential areas of Manghopir Town, improve air quality by increasing oxygen levels, and help transform the urban landscape into a healthier and more pleasant environment.

The tree plantation campaign was formally inaugurated by Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi, who planted a sapling to mark the beginning of the initiative. The ceremony was attended by senior officials of the Town Administration, elected public representatives, and local dignitaries. Vice Chairman Rana Muhammad Arif and UC-9 Vice Chairman Ali Hassan Brohi were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi said, “Planting trees is not only a practice in accordance with the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), but it is also one of the most effective ways to protect our environment and preserve the earth in the present era. We are not merely planting trees; we are building a greener, safer, and cooler future for the generations to come.”

He further stated that tree plantation would be ensured in every street, neighborhood, and park of Manghopir Town. He emphasized that planting a tree and then abandoning it is a serious act of negligence. Therefore, a dedicated monitoring system has been established to ensure the proper care and protection of every sapling so that the benefits of the campaign remain long-lasting.

Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi appealed to the residents to actively support the Town Administration in this national and social responsibility by planting more trees outside their homes, in parks, and on nearby vacant land, thereby playing their part in restoring Karachi to its former title of the “City of Lights” and a beautiful, green metropolis.

On the occasion, local residents appreciated Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi’s initiative and described it as a significant milestone in the history of the Town. They also expressed their commitment that the tree plantation campaign would not remain a one-day activity but would be expanded throughout the Town to help reduce the adverse effects of climate change.
