Karachi Police Claims Busting of Alleged Fake Intelligence Network; Two Suspects Arrested

Karachi (HRNW): Karachi Police has claimed the arrest of two suspects allegedly involved in using the names of sensitive state institutions to pressure government officials, builders, and other individuals and carry out illegal activities for financial gains.

According to police sources, the suspects had allegedly established a network in which they posed as officials linked to a federal sensitive agency and attempted to influence officials of various government departments.

Sources claim that, to strengthen their alleged network, the suspects obtained a bungalow in Bahadurabad, Karachi, allegedly by pressuring a builder. The location was reportedly used while displaying symbols, logos, and identification materials resembling those of law enforcement and federal institutions.

Police said that Bahadurabad Police conducted an operation near Pir Pagara House and arrested two suspects traveling in a black Corolla car. The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Muhammad Talha Yousufi son of Muhammad Younis (a former bank employee)
  • Syed Ali Haqani alias Muhammad Ahmed son of Abdul Qadir alias Ahmed Madani

Police stated that a case, registered as FIR No. 193/26, has been lodged against the suspects.

According to police sources, fake identification cards allegedly belonging to a federal sensitive institution were recovered from the suspects, which they allegedly used to create pressure on police officials and other government departments.

Sources further claimed that the suspects had allegedly attempted to influence inquiries, investigations, and administrative matters involving different government institutions. These allegations are part of the ongoing investigation and have not been independently verified.

Police sources also claimed that the suspects allegedly had links with certain officials and individuals connected to different departments, and further investigation is underway to determine the extent of their activities.

According to police, the suspects were produced before a court; however, the court declined the request for physical remand and sent them to jail.

Legal experts state that misuse of the identity, name, or authority of state institutions is a serious offence, and a transparent investigation and due legal process are necessary to identify all responsible individuals.
