Reports indicate that it was not the government, led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, with its multi-billion budget, that found the child’s body—but a young garbage collector boy who stumbled upon it during his work.
According to eyewitnesses, when police officials arrived at the scene:
- They initially interrogated the boy instead of focusing on the body.
- He was allegedly slapped by the police before being allowed to report the discovery.
- Police reportedly tried to take credit for finding the body themselves.
Human rights activists and community members are demanding that:
- The police officers involved in assaulting the boy be dismissed from their jobs.
- The young boy, who displayed remarkable responsibility, be honored as a hero, with the government ensuring his education or employment support.
While protecting citizens and investigating crimes is the state’s responsibility, this boy’s courage and initiative deserve special recognition and encouragement.
