Islamabad (HRNW)- The Senate Standing Committee on Interior ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the Anmol Pinky case after expressing dissatisfaction with information provided by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) during its meeting.
The committee meeting, held on Monday, was chaired by Senator Saifullah Abro, who expressed anger over what he described as incorrect information presented by the Chief Operations of the FBR. Following the exchange, the committee directed the official to leave the meeting.
During the proceedings, Senator Saifullah Abro criticized the appointment of officials who, according to him, provide misleading information to parliamentary committees. He remarked that a handful of officers had caused significant damage to the country’s institutions and questioned the accountability of the FBR, stating that notices are issued whenever he seeks explanations from the authority.
The committee also directed the FIA to carry out a thorough investigation into the Anmol Pinky case and submit the findings in accordance with the law.
