Trump Says Iran Requested Doha Meeting, Highlights Falling Oil Prices and Reiterates Nuclear Warning

Washington (HRNW)- U.S. President Donald Trump made a series of posts on his social media platform Truth Social, commenting on developments in the Middle East, global oil prices, and U.S. domestic politics.

In one of his key posts, President Trump claimed that Iran has requested a meeting, which he said is scheduled to take place tomorrow in Doha, Qatar. He did not provide further details regarding the agenda of the proposed talks or the officials expected to participate.

In separate posts, Trump said that the price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil had fallen to around $69 per barrel and claimed that prices were continuing to decline. He credited his administration and recent developments involving Iran for the drop in oil prices, saying crude oil was now trading below the level seen before efforts to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program began.

The U.S. president also warned oil companies and fuel retailers against profiteering, urging consumers to report any businesses that fail to pass on lower fuel prices. He noted that he had previously directed the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate companies and petrol stations accused of overcharging consumers despite falling crude oil prices.

In another post, Trump claimed that his approval ratings in the United States had reached an all-time high, exceeding the level recorded on November 5, the day of the last presidential election.

Reaffirming his long-standing position on Iran’s nuclear program, Trump stated that Iran would not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons under any circumstances.

According to market data, Brent crude was trading at around $73 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was trading near $69 per barrel, with global crude oil prices having declined by approximately 15 percent compared to levels before the recent conflict.
