Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has said that technical talks between Iran and the United States will take place only after the necessary conditions are met and both sides agree on a date and venue.
According to media reports, Gharibabadi rejected reports published by some U.S. media outlets claiming that technical negotiations between Tehran and Washington were scheduled to take place this week in Doha, Qatar.
He said that reports regarding technical working group meetings in Doha have not been confirmed and that no such meetings are scheduled for this week.
The deputy foreign minister added that consultations with Qatar are continuing, including discussions related to the implementation of commitments under the recently signed memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States.
Gharibabadi said the first round of technical talks within the designated working groups will be held once the required conditions are fulfilled and both parties agree on the time and location. He also noted that consultations on the matter are continuing through intermediary countries.
