Investigation Uncovers Alleged Property Grabbing Conspiracy Under Guise of ‘Sindhi Card’ at Sachal Indus Flats

KARACHI (HRNW) – A deeply concerning plot has emerged involving the weaponization of the “Sindhi Card” and alleged police collusion to harass innocent citizens and seize private apartments at “Sachal Indus Flights” (Bismillah Terrace), located near the sensitive areas of Sohrab Goth and Sachal. Local residents have charged that a minor domestic dispute regarding Eid-ul-Adha sacrificial animals is being intentionally painted as a linguistic conflict by a nationalist facilitator, Mushtaq Sarki, alongside a few corrupt elements within the police department, putting the security of peaceful flat owners at stake.

According to residents and internal investigative sources, the structural details of this alleged land-grabbing plot and malicious prosecution include:

Escalation of a Minor Parking Brawl into a Severe Felony

  • FIR No. 858/26: The criminal case was formally registered at the Sachal Police Station following a localized dispute near the security guard’s cabin regarding the tying of sacrificial animals.

  • Misuse of Section 452 (House-Trespass): To transform a simple parking-lot argument into a severe, non-bailable felony, the complainant—identified as an influential Sindhi police officer named Muhammad Khan Boher—fabricated a narrative claiming that the suspects broke through his apartment door. Sources allege this was orchestrated to incarcerate the actual residents so that the land-grabbing group could take physical possession of the vacant flat.

Five Glaring Indicators of Police Collusion and Malicious Intent

The investigative review highlights five distinct anomalies within the case file that signal institutional bias and bad faith:

  1. Instantaneous Case Transfer to CIA Sohrab Goth: In a highly irregular move for Karachi Police administrative procedures, the investigation of a neighborhood brawl was instantly stripped from the Sachal Police Station and handed over to the CIA Sohrab Goth. The immediate transfer by DSP Aurangzeb Khattak indicates the deployment of high-level influence to bypass standard operating protocols and crush the opposing party.

  2. Targeting Innocent Women of the Household: To deliberately maximize legal pressure on the family, the FIR nominates four women (including a resident named Salma and three unidentified women), preposterously claiming they attacked the complainant with sticks and batons over the sacrificial animal dispute. This tactic is viewed as a deliberate psychological ploy to force peaceful citizens to abandon their properties out of fear of police handling.

  3. Leaving Parentage ‘Unidentified’ as a Blackmailing Trap: Despite claiming to personally know the neighbors, the complainant left the parentage (ولدیت) of all accused persons as “unidentified” in the official FIR text. This creates a legal vulnerability, allowing the land-grabbing elements and compliant police officers to arbitrarily arrest any building guard, elderly resident, or youth to prolong extortion efforts.

  4. The Exploitative Role of Mushtaq Sarki: A coordinated digital campaign has been launched on social media trying to project Mushtaq Sarki as a community leader. However, public circles recognize him as an operative who uses nationalist narratives to provide street power for property disputes, highway encroachments, and the blackmailing of real estate developers. Bypassing the regional DIG to coordinate directly with the DSP further validates his role as a facilitator for land-grabbing rings.

Widespread Public Protests and Demands for High-Level Intervention

This overt distortion of the legal process and attempts to sow ethnic discord have triggered severe insecurity and anger among the residents of Sachal. Citizens argue that if senior police commanders function as instruments for nationalist groups and land grabbers, ordinary citizens can never feel secure in the homes they built with their life savings.

Civil society organizations and the affected residents have jointly issued an urgent appeal to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh and the Additional IGP Karachi, strongly demanding:

  • The immediate quashing of this fabricated, one-sided FIR.

  • The cancellation of the order transferring the case to the CIA, alongside the initiation of a formal departmental inquiry against DSP Aurangzeb Khattak.

  • The immediate arrest and prosecution of Mushtaq Sarki and his associates for inciting ethnic divisions and facilitating property mafias, ensuring that peaceful citizens are protected from lawless intimidation.
