Murree: Case Registered After Attempt to Secretly Record Woman in Ladies’ Washroom at Farooq Hospital

RAWALPINDI / MURREE (HRNW) – A highly concerning incident has emerged from the well-known Farooq Hospital in Rawalpindi, where an attempt was made to secretly record a woman inside the ladies’ washroom. Following the broadcast of the news on media, the Murree Police took swift action, formally registering a criminal case and initiating a proper investigation.

According to details provided by Crime Reporter Umar Khan, the comprehensive facts of the case are as follows:

Case Background and FIR Details

  • The Complainant’s Stance: According to FIR No. 290/26 registered at the Murree Police Station, Abdul Waheed, a resident of Rawalpindi and son of Muhammad Hussain, submitted a formal complaint stating that he had been visiting Farooq Hospital near Hall Road, Murree, for the past month for his wife’s medical treatment.

  • The Voyeurism Attempt: According to the complaint, on May 26, 2026, his wife went into the hospital’s ladies’ washroom to change her clothes. While inside, she noticed that an unidentified individual had pushed a mobile phone through the washroom’s ventilator window and was allegedly making a secret video recording of her. Upon the woman raising an alarm, the suspect immediately fled the scene.

Police Action and Legal Penalties

  • Immediate Police Response: Immediately following the incident, the victim’s family reported the matter via the police helpline 15. Following the media broadcast of the news, the police took prompt action and registered a case under Section 354 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

  • Investigation Handed Over: A police team arrived at the hospital, secured the initial evidence, and handed over the formal investigation of the case to Sub-Inspector Muhammad Bilal Zakir.

Suspicion of Inside Involvement and Family Demand

  • Hospital Staff Suspected: In the written application submitted to the police, the complainant maintained that the specific washroom area is restricted from general public access and is only accessible to hospital staff or authorized individuals. Consequently, there is a strong suspicion that an insider or hospital employee is involved in this heinous act.
