Sindh Government Imposes New Business Hour Restrictions Under Austerity Policy

Karachi (HRNW)- The Sindh government has issued a notification restricting business hours across the province under its austerity and fuel-saving policy. According to reports, the new directives have come into immediate effect.

As per the notification, all shops, markets, and shopping malls in districts other than divisional headquarters must close by 8:00 PM on all days of the week, while businesses located in divisional headquarters will be allowed to remain open until 9:00 PM.

The government has clarified that tandoors, milk and dairy shops, bakeries, medical stores, laboratories, hospitals, and petrol pumps are exempt from these restrictions.

Similarly, hotels, restaurants, and food outlets will be allowed to operate from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM, while home delivery and takeaway services will remain unrestricted.

In addition, wedding halls and banquet venues may remain open from 8:00 PM until 12:00 AM (midnight).

The notification further states that Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners, with the support of Sindh Police, will ensure strict implementation of these orders across their respective areas.
