Karachi (HRNW)- Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho has said that equipping the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) with modern equipment is the need of the hour to effectively tackle current security challenges. The statement came during an important meeting focused on the ongoing digitalization of CTD operations and the acquisition of advanced resources.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including the Additional IG CTD, DIGs of Headquarters, Crime & Investigations, IT, Finance, and CTD, along with SSPs and AIGs. During the briefing, officials discussed the objectives and requirements of digitizing departmental operations and obtaining modern security equipment.
The Additional IG CTD informed the meeting that the Sindh Police’s sensitive “Redbook” has now been digitized with AI features, and a board comprising various law enforcement agencies has been formed to manage the registration and deletion of names of high-profile criminals and wanted suspects. The digital Redbook has also been linked with other online surveillance systems of Sindh Police.
IG Sindh directed that comprehensive proposals for modern equipment be submitted to the Sindh government for immediate approval and emphasized stronger coordination among all law enforcement agencies for the effective use of digital applications. He also instructed the Police Training Department to organize training sessions in collaboration with the IT branch to ensure efficient use of new systems and resources.
