KARACHI (HRNW): Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui served as the chief guest at the annual relief program organized by the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF), where he was joined by Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal and other MQM-P leadership. During his keynote address, Dr. Siddiqui highlighted that the tradition of social service within their movement predates their political struggle, lamenting that over the last 18 years, poverty has surged to record levels in Karachi—a city that once stood among the world’s best. He emphasized that the residents of Karachi hold the ultimate certificate of patriotism by being the nation’s largest taxpayers, yet they face systemic deprivation, noting that while Karachi’s revenue has funded motorways across the entire country, the city itself remains neglected. Dr. Siddiqui poignantly observed that the struggling “white-collar” class consists of dignified individuals who were once the giving hands of society and refuse to become beggars, asserting that the very people who come to the city to earn are now attempting to dictate its fate.
