Kathmandu, Nepal (HRNW) – The United Nations and humanitarian partners are supporting Nepal’s government-led response after devastating flooding left more than 500 people confirmed dead, hundreds missing and more than 3,700 people rescued. UNICEF has separately reported that more than 17,000 children urgently need humanitarian assistance and is appealing for US$17.2 million for emergency response and early recovery. UN partners are working to provide health, nutrition, water and sanitation, education and child-protection assistance to affected communities.
