Why We Don't Run Ads
HRNW does not accept commercial advertising on our human rights coverage. Many of the institutions we report on — government departments, corporations, political actors — are exactly the kind of advertisers a typical news outlet would court. Accepting their money could compromise the independence our reporting depends on.
This is why direct, reader-funded support is not just helpful to us — it’s structural to how we stay independent.
