Karachi (HRNW)– A sensation spread in Pir Sirhindi Goth area of Malir when a special team of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) conducted a sudden major raid on Bari Textile Mills. The operation was led by GM Adil Paracha, while Korangi Zone officers Yasir Hashmi, Dodo Zardari, head office officers and a large contingent of SSGC police were also present at the spot.
During the raid, the team carefully inspected the internal parts of the mill and a shocking revelation came to light. According to officials, gas was being illegally stolen from the official gas connection of Bari Textile Mills and supplied to another factory located behind it, where the illegal business of melting slag and garbage was going on.

During the operation, illegal gas lines, connection points and various methods of hiding the flow of gas laid secretly were exposed. The SSGC team immediately disconnected all the illegal lines and also seized important evidence from the spot.
According to SSGC officials, this gas theft was not only causing huge losses to the national exchequer but was also a clear violation of industrial laws and gas regulatory norms. The company has initiated further technical and legal investigations into the incident, while strict legal action and cases are likely to be registered against the responsible individuals.
Sources say that this gas theft network was active for a long time, which was completely exposed in the recent raid. More arrests are also expected, while SSGC has made it clear that no concession will be given to the elements involved in gas theft.
