Fazlur Rehman Calls for Responsible Opposition, Urges Debate on New Provinces

Islamabad (HRNW)- Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called for a reasonable distance between the opposition and government, urging political parties to avoid unnecessary hostility, prejudice and opposition merely for the sake of opposition.

Speaking to the media, Fazlur Rehman welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan to a hospital, describing it as a positive development.

He said the opposition’s primary responsibility is to identify weaknesses in government policies and contribute to their improvement. He emphasized that political matters should be handled with seriousness and responsibility.

Discussing the issue of creating new provinces, Fazlur Rehman said problems are emerging because political positions are being sharply divided between support and opposition. He called for a broader discussion to assess the constitutional and practical implications of new provinces and determine whether the current environment is suitable for such a move.
