Hajj 2027: Registration and Passport Verification Accelerate, First Installment Payment Begins August 18

Islamabad (HRNW): The registration and verification process for Hajj 2027 pilgrims is progressing rapidly. Through the Pak Hajj App and Hajj Portal developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB), passport verification for 140,919 pilgrims has so far been successfully completed with the assistance of the Passport Office.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has advised pilgrims who have not yet completed their registration or verification to complete their profiles on the Pak Hajj App or Hajj Portal as soon as possible.

Pilgrims whose verification is still pending have been advised to keep their personal data and passport information accurate and updated on the app to avoid unnecessary delays in biometric or passport verification.

First Hajj 2027 Installment from August 18

According to the ministry, payment of the first installment for Hajj 2027 will begin on August 18, 2026.

Pilgrims have been instructed to deposit the payment only into the ministry’s official account through the authorized bank, Habib Bank Limited (HBL).

For payment, pilgrims must use the PSID, 1LINK or digital challan generated through the Pak Hajj App or Hajj Portal.

The ministry has advised pilgrims to complete their profiles before August 18, as increased traffic on the Hajj Portal is expected from that date, potentially causing technical difficulties during the initial payment period.

Human Rights and Pilgrims’ Rights Perspective

HRNW notes that transparency, accurate information, data protection and equal access to services are essential in the Hajj registration and payment process. Pilgrims should receive clear information about the payment mechanism, their deposited funds and the handling and protection of their personal data.

Given the scale and importance of the Hajj programme, digital services should be accessible, secure and user-friendly so that elderly pilgrims, people with limited digital literacy and those with limited access to technology can complete registration and payment without discrimination.
